Office Volunteer (World Parkinson's Day Project Volunteer)

Opportunity image

We're committed to making the biggest possible impact we can, letting no process, system or silo get in the way of achieving our goals. You'll be part of this, offering support to the projects we run.

Every year we light up Scotland in blue for Parkinson's to mark World Parkinson's Day on 11 April - but did you know that this popular and impactful activity is developed and led by volunteers?

We are looking for people from across Scotland who can give a few hours a week between now and late April to help us to make this year's Light Up bigger and better than ever.

We'd love you to join a small team of volunteers. You'll be working together and pooling your ideas, IT and administrative skills to help us have an even bigger impact in Scotland. You'll need to have computer access, good IT skills and a friendly and organised approach. In line with our Office Volunteer role description, you'll be:

  • identifying and approaching new venues to Light Up as part of a coordinated approach
  • supporting landmark venues, community hubs, businesses and individuals take part
  • maintaining up to date records and working with the rest of the team to maximise our reach, including through social and traditional media
  • helping us to evaluate our activity and learn about what worked well, so that we can build on our successes for next year

Interested? Please contact Alice, our Volunteer Coordinator in Scotland at ahall@parkinsons.org.uk If you've skills in admin, project management or similar, or are looking to develop skills, this volunteer role could be for you - all whilst supporting people affected by Parkinson's in the community.

This can be a home based role. As part of recruitment, you may be asked to provide a reference for this role. Speak to your staff contact for more information.
