Speech and Language Support Group Facilitator (Newcastle University)

Many people take for granted the ability to communicate verbally, but over 80% of people with Parkinson's experience a voice or speech disorder, leading many to become less confident communicators.

We're looking for third year speech therapy students, or students who are fourth year masters in speech therapy to facilitate and support a group of people affected by Parkinson's to continue valuable speech exercises; learned either from a Lee Silverman course or from a speech and language therapist. You'll help provide encouragement and a positive environment for people to practice their skills and for attendees to access peer support, helping them to take control of Parkinson's.

You'll gain experience of working in a speech and language therapy environment, and have a real impact on people affected by Parkinson's.
