Campaigns Volunteer (Northumberland Campaign Volunteer)

Would you like to help make sure that people with Parkinson’s receive the support and treatment they need? We need your help in Northumberland and we’re looking for campaign volunteers.

Will you join our Get it on time campaign? Make sure that no one with Parkinson's is afraid to go into hospital.

People with Parkinson's need their medication on time every time. A delay of even 30 minutes can impact a person's ability to walk, talk and swallow. Shocking recent stats collected by Parkinson's UK reveal that only 42% people received their medication on time when admitted to hospital in England last year.

We need your help to convince the government, you MP, and your local health decision making bodies (like Integrated Care Boards, Hospital Trusts and local Councils) that this should be a priority. We want you to show them the scale of the problem and the simple solutions.

You can work on our wider campaigns too. We’re committed to making sure that people get the best service from the welfare, health and social care system. Whether that be on filling vacant nurse posts, better access to blue badges or improving disability access in your community, we're open to what you want to campaign on.

Represent your area as part of a vibrant team of volunteers across England, influencing politicians and decision makers on the importance of support for people with Parkinson's.

We don't expect you to be an expert in campaigning or have met your MP before. We'll provide training on how to campaign and grow relationships with decision makers.

You’ll learn and develop valuable skills; like leadership, teamwork, campaigning, negotiating and communication, all whilst doing something meaningful for people affected by Parkinson's in your area.
