Physical Activity Champion (Suffolk)
Are you passionate about being physically active? Do you feel that you would like to help us get the message out that exercise is beneficial for people with Parkinson’s? We want to respond to requests from health and social care agencies when they ask us to talk about physical activity. But currently we do not have the capacity to say yes to all requests, so we need your help!
You will be part of a fun, vibrant team of Physical Activity Champions that will be supported by Parkinson’s UK Area Development Managers Ian Rogers & Julie Wilson. We will offer lots of support such as regular mentoring meetings, training sessions for presentation skills, and other opportunities to develop within the role if you are interested in doing so.
We want you to feel confident, well equipped and able to deliver a pre-produced presentation to health and social care professionals, local Parkinson’s groups, and other interested organisations. You will also be given the opportunity to attend events and play a key part in local communities.
You will be required to travel within your local area to deliver a standard presentation. There will be opportunities to attend online meetings as well therefore we need someone willing to present on screen using systems such as TEAMS and Zoom.
Please contact us if you feel that you have the right skills and experience to join us and make a difference to people living with Parkinson’s who do not know that being physically active is really important.
